Fish Name:
Details: 1/8 bites in a day.Picking up where I had left off, I arrived as early as possible and introduced several handfuls of tiny fishmeal boilies into the same area that was productive the evening prior. The Carp had seemingly spent the night in the same area, as the water’s surface was literally ‘rocking’ when I re-arrived the morning after, suggesting to me perhaps yet even MORE fish had accumulated in this zone. Almost within minutes the action was restored, receiving a double-take on both rods simultaneously. The first of the flurry was this Common Carp.I put a lot of success down to the fact that I always discharge the lead/weight when fishing for Carp, for multiple reasons (in priority order, as follows):1 - Minimising damage to the fish (no lead swinging around by their head during the fight, nor the penduluming’ effect caused by the swinging lead, which in turn creates a larger opening at the hook’s point of penetration within the Carp’s mouth)
2 - Vastly reduces the chances of ‘hook pulls’
3 - Vastly increases the chances of succesfully landing the fish through any weed that is present
4 - Safer for the fish in the unlikely event that the line should part
