Details: 3/8 bites on this day…One I never actually got to meet during my time on The Pits all of those years ago; it was lovely to finally make this old warriors acquaintance. A carp with more-a-story to tell than I have had hot dinners, no doubt. Almost certainly older than me, this Carp.Simplistic/opportunist angling and stinky fishmeal boilies proving to be the winning tactic. Find the fish, assess the situation, cast to the fish. No need to over complicate, nor over-bait. I truly believe that hookbaits, freebies, rigs etc are all irrelevant; just find the fish, use a good bait you have confidence in, and make sure you have a rig (with a super sharp hook) that will be presented on the substrate of which you are fishing over.
