The Layer Marney Complex will be closed on Friday 28th February to allow for contractors to undertake some of the planned improvement works across all three lakes. This will involve the application of micronized gypsum to each water and the installation of marginal planting along the recently cleared north bank on reservoir 3.
We have been informed that the land owner will excavate and replace the connecting pipe between Layer Marney 1 & 2 on Monday, Tuesday 3rd and 4th March
These works are much needed at Layer Marney and although the pipe between lake 2 and 3 has been replaced today without the need for any closures, Mondays excavations will prevent any access to the complex throughout the duration of the works.
We expect that this work will greatly improve the flow of water between the reservoirs.
