A small number of trees surrounding the front pit at Silver End have been identified as having the potential to pose a danger to members if they are left to deteriorate further.
These trees are located on the footpath around the Front Pit and encroach on a small number of swims.
Due to the potential future risk that these trees may pose to members, Arborists will undertake urgent works to stabilise the trees on Monday 5th May 2025
These works are necessary, and to ensure the works can be completed safely, the Front Pit will need to be closed on that Monday..
There may need to be additional works on Tuesday however the contractor has said that it is possible to complete these works whilst the front pit is open.
Members should expect that individual swims may need to be closed on Tuesday and anyone fishing may experience noise from the contractors.
We understand that this is short notice and the works are going ahead on a Bank Holiday, however due to the safety concerns around these tress and the availability of the contractors Monday is our only option. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
