It is with great regret that we have to advise members that Wass’ Tackle in Copford has ceased trading and closed their shop last Friday.
They have traded in various shops in Colchester over 80 years and have sold our memberships for many years. They were hoping to continue trading for a little longer but circumstances dictated that they had to close at short notice.
Many of our members would have shopped there over the years finding it well stocked with friendly and knowledgeable staff and will be sad to learn of the closure. The original owner Will Wass sadly died and subsequently his wife and son have endeavoured to keep the business going but it has proved financially too difficult in the past couple of years. It is sad to see another independent tackle shop disappear.
